Help us grow 20,000 trees between Earth Day and World Environment Day!
Between Earth Day and World Environment Day, we want to spread the message of how investing in trees is to actively take care of our common future. If you order one of our Selected Trees, we will match the tree you grow with one tree of our own. Some of these trees are red-listed, and are therefore in even more need of support.
After World Environment Day on June 5th, you will receive a treecode for your additional tree. The tree species may not match the tree you chose as it's based on availability. You can keep this tree or gift it to someone special. Let’s green the planet together!
None of the projects we run would be possible without the collaboration of local communities. They inhabit the land, they know the land, and they are its custodians. If we want trees to be cared for and to grow sustainably, we must involve local communities and build our projects together.
Communities
What today is a large tree, capable of bearing dozens and dozens of kilos of fruit every year, was once a small seed. A tree, if planted correctly and looked after properly, is a green investment, capable of providing a return over time with benefits for the environment and opportunities for local communities.
Opportunities
Habitats for Wildlife
Trees are the cornerstone of many ecosystems due to their ability to perform different functions in the habitat in which they coexist. If we think about their relationship with animals it is easy to see how trees can be a source of food, a place of refuge, a home, a nursery or even simply a place to mark out territory.
The consequences of climate change threaten to undermine the balance of nature. One of the most important CO2 recovery processes is chlorophyll photosynthesis. This captures carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and stores it in plant tissue (CO2 photoassimilation). Trees perform a number of beneficial functions by storing carbon, producing oxygen and absorbing pollution.

Sustainable Ecosystems
In projects we carry out in many countries around the world, trees are an element that complements others, including seasonal and annual crops, animal life and the communities of people who live there. This creates an environment in which diversity and complexity are assets and a guarantee of long-term sustainability.
Equality
Concepts such as community building often sound abstract, but actually building relationships based on trust that bring people together to make a project happen is something very concrete. To achieve this, we hold regular meetings with the local communities we work with. In these meetings, we offer training, and we strive to bridge gender, ethnic, and social differences. Because we are convinced that a greener world must also be a fairer world.
One, two, three, Mango!
Between Earth Day and World Environment Day, we are letting the mango manifest the power of trees on the sides of buildings in London, Berlin and Milan. Watch it come alive here.
